Terms of Service

The agreement between you and GoToRetreats when you browse, book, list or host on our marketplace. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

Last updated · September 8, 2026

The short version

Six things worth knowing before you read on. The numbered sections below are the binding text.

  • We are the marketplace, hosts run the retreats

GoToRetreats connects guests with independent hosts. The host delivers the retreat, venue, service or course. We provide the platform, secure checkout and support.

  • Guests pay us, hosts get paid after the booking

Your payment is collected at checkout and held safely until the booking has taken place. Hosts are then paid out through Stripe or Payoneer.

  • Cancellation terms are shown before you pay

Every listing carries a Flexible, Moderate or Strict policy. If a host cancels, the guest is refunded in full.

  • Hosts pay a commission or a Premium plan

Stripe's card-processing fee is deducted from every host payout. On top of that, Community hosts pay a commission per booking and Premium hosts pay a monthly subscription instead. Current rates are always on our Pricing page.

  • Be honest, be kind, stay on the platform

Accurate listings, truthful reviews and respectful messages keep the community safe. Taking bookings off-platform to avoid fees is not allowed.

  • Talk to us first if something goes wrong

Most issues are solved by our support team. If not, disputes are resolved individually under the process in Section 16.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and GoToRetreats, LLC ("GoToRetreats", "we", "us"). They apply whenever you visit https://www.gotoretreats.com, create an account, send a message, make a booking, publish a listing or subscribe to a plan. Please read them. By using GoToRetreats you agree to them, together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Who these Terms apply to

  • Guestspeople who browse, enquire, book or attend a retreat, stay at a venue, buy a service or join a course.
  • Hostspeople or businesses who list and deliver retreats, venues, services or courses.
  • Visitorsanyone who looks around without an account.

You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account or make a booking. If you use GoToRetreats on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

Hosts also agree to the host-specific commitments in Section 5. Where a Host Agreement is published in future, it will apply alongside these Terms.

2. What GoToRetreats is (and is not)

GoToRetreats is an online marketplace. Hosts publish listings, guests book them, and we provide the tools in between: search, messaging, quotes, secure checkout, payment administration, reviews and support.

  • Hosts are independent. They are not our employees, agents or partners. The contract for the retreat, stay, service or course is between the guest and the host.
  • We review every listing before it goes live and may ask hosts for verification, but we do not inspect venues or supervise retreats. We cannot guarantee that a listing is accurate or that an experience will meet your expectations.
  • We are not a travel agent, tour operator, medical provider or insurer. Wellness content on the platform is general information, not medical advice.

3. Your account

  • Give us accurate details and keep them current. You can sign up with an email address and password or with Google.
  • One person, one account. Do not create extra accounts to dodge a suspension, manipulate reviews or avoid fees.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your login. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
  • Hosts may be asked to verify their identity and business details with our payment partners (Stripe or Payoneer) before they can be paid. Payouts stay on hold until verification is complete.
  • You can delete your account from your settings at any time. It is deactivated immediately and permanently erased after 30 days unless you sign back in. Records we must keep by law, such as transaction and tax records, are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Booking as a guest

4.1 Three ways to book

  • Instant bookingyou pay at checkout and the booking is confirmed straight away.
  • Booking requestyou send a request and your card is saved but not charged. If the host accepts, the card is charged and the booking is confirmed. If the host declines, or you withdraw the request first, nothing is taken.
  • Custom quoteyou and the host agree a tailored price in messages. The host sends a quote, you pay it through checkout, and it becomes a confirmed booking.

A booking is binding once it is confirmed. From that moment the listing's cancellation policy applies to both sides.

4.2 Prices and what is included

  • Prices are set by the host and shown in your local currency for convenience. The amount charged at checkout is the amount you agree to pay. Currency conversion by your bank or card issuer may vary slightly.
  • Each listing states what is and is not included, for example meals, accommodation, transfers, equipment and any per-guest pricing. Read it before you book.
  • Hosts may offer early-bird, last-minute or seasonal discounts. A discount applies only if the conditions shown on the listing are met at the time of booking.
  • You are responsible for your own travel, visas, insurance and anything not listed as included.

4.3 Your responsibilities as a guest

  • Make sure the retreat, venue, service or course is suitable for you, including any fitness, dietary, accessibility or health needs. Speak to a medical professional if you are unsure.
  • Follow the host's house rules and safety instructions and treat the host, staff and other guests with respect.
  • You are responsible for any damage you cause to a venue or its equipment.
  • Pay for the bookings you make and only dispute a card charge after you have contacted us first (see Section 7.5).

5. Listing and hosting

5.1 Creating a listing

  • Describe your offering truthfully: dates, location, capacity, what is included, pricing and your cancellation policy. Photos must be yours or ones you have the right to use.
  • Our team reviews every new listing before it is published. We may decline or remove a listing that is inaccurate, unsafe, unlawful or not a fit for the platform.
  • Keep availability and pricing up to date. If you accept a booking you must honour it at the price shown.

5.2 Running your retreat, venue, service or course

  • You are responsible for delivering what you listed, and for the safety of your guests while they are with you.
  • You must hold every licence, permit, qualification and insurance that the law and good practice require for what you offer, in every place you offer it.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes, including any VAT, GST or sales tax on your bookings, and for any reporting your local authority requires.
  • Respond to enquiries and booking requests promptly. A guest is only charged once you accept their request, and they may withdraw it at any time before then.
  • Do not ask guests to pay you outside GoToRetreats for a booking that started here, and do not use our messaging to move guests off the platform. This protects guests and keeps the marketplace fair.

5.3 Extra services

Retreat planning and marketing services for hosts are provided by GoToRetreats, not by hosts through their listings. Where we sell such services, the fee is agreed in writing before work begins and is non-refundable once work has started, because the time and expertise are spent whatever the outcome. We never guarantee a particular number of bookings or sales.

6. Payments, fees and payouts

6.1 How money flows

  1. The guest pays the full booking amount at checkout. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
  2. GoToRetreats holds the funds while the booking is pending or upcoming. This protects both sides if a booking is cancelled or changed.
  3. After the booking's end date, plus a short clearance period, the host becomes eligible for payout. We deduct Stripe's card-processing fee, our commission (if any), any refunds and any adjustments, and release the rest.
  4. Payouts are sent through Stripe Connect or Payoneer, whichever the host has connected and verified.

6.2 Host plans and fees

  • Card-processing fee (all hosts)Stripe charges a fee to process every card payment. That fee, currently around 3% of the booking amount, is deducted from the host's payout on both plans.
  • Community planfree to join. In addition to the card-processing fee, GoToRetreats deducts a commission from each booking.
  • Premium plana recurring subscription billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. Premium hosts pay no GoToRetreats commission (only the card-processing fee) and receive extra visibility, including featured placement and a Verified badge.

The current processing rate, commission rates, the Premium price and any launch offer are always shown on our Pricing page (https://www.gotoretreats.com/p/pricing) and at checkout. Those figures are the ones that apply. If we change fees we will give reasonable notice, and changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.

  • A Premium subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; you keep Premium benefits until the end of the period you have paid for. Subscription fees are not refunded for unused time unless the law requires it.
  • If a subscription payment fails we will retry and let you know. If it cannot be collected, your account returns to the Community plan.

6.3 Payout conditions

  • Hosts must complete identity and business verification with Stripe or Payoneer before payouts can be released. Each partner has its own terms, which you accept when you connect.
  • We may delay or hold a payout while a booking is disputed, a refund is pending, a chargeback is open, verification is incomplete or we reasonably suspect fraud.
  • If a guest is refunded or a chargeback succeeds after a host has been paid, we may deduct the amount from the host's future payouts or invoice it.
  • Payouts are made in the currency and by the method supported by your payout partner. Conversion fees charged by Stripe, Payoneer or your bank are the host's responsibility.

7. Cancellations and refunds

7.1 If a guest cancels

Every listing shows one of three cancellation policies. The host chooses it, the guest sees it before paying, and it decides the refund automatically. Days are counted to the start date of the booking.

PolicyWhat the guest gets back
Flexible100% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before the start date, otherwise no refund. T&Cs apply.
Moderate50% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before the start date, otherwise no refund.
StrictNo refund once the booking is confirmed.

Where a policy gives a 100% refund, the refund is the amount paid less the card-processing fee charged on that booking. Our payment processor keeps that fee when a payment is refunded, so it is not refundable when a guest chooses to cancel. A partial refund is not reduced any further.

A guest cancels from My Bookings. Where a refund is due it is returned to the original payment method. Refunds usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days depending on the card issuer.

7.2 If a host cancels

If a host cancels a confirmed booking for any reason, the guest receives a full refund, including any platform fees. The card-processing fee on that booking is charged to the host and deducted from their future payouts. Repeated host cancellations may lead to lower search ranking, loss of Premium benefits or removal from the platform.

7.3 If GoToRetreats cancels

We may cancel a booking if we suspect fraud, if a listing breaches these Terms, if a host cannot be verified or paid, or if we are required to by law or a payment partner. In those cases the guest is refunded in full. Where we cancel because a host could not be verified or paid, the card-processing fee on the booking is charged to that host and deducted from their future payouts.

7.4 Exceptional circumstances

Natural disasters, government travel restrictions, serious illness and similar events outside anyone's control happen. Contact us as early as you can. We will work with the host and guest to find a fair outcome, which may include a refund beyond the listed policy, a date change or a credit. Our decision in these cases is final.

7.5 Chargebacks

Please contact us at hello@gotoretreats.com before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback raised without contacting us first, for a booking that was delivered as described, may result in the booking being cancelled and your account suspended.

8. Messages, reviews and your content

  • You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, messages and reviews you post. You give GoToRetreats a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt and promote that content on the platform and in our marketing while it is public, so that we can run and grow the marketplace.
  • Only guests whose booking has taken place can review it, and a review must reflect a genuine experience. Hosts may reply publicly. Fake, paid-for or retaliatory reviews are removed.
  • Messages between guests and hosts are private but not secret: our support team can read them to resolve disputes, investigate abuse or keep the platform safe.
  • Our AI assistant, Kaya, and other AI features help answer questions and draft content. AI output can be wrong. Check anything important with the host or with our team.
  • We may edit, hide or remove content that breaks these Terms and may keep a copy for legal and safety reasons after it is removed.

9. What you may not do

  • Post anything false, misleading, unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Impersonate another person or organisation, or claim an affiliation you do not have.
  • Discriminate against guests or hosts on the basis of race, religion, nationality, disability, gender, sexual orientation, age or any other protected characteristic.
  • Scrape, copy, reverse-engineer or overload the platform, or try to access accounts and data that are not yours.
  • Use GoToRetreats to promote another marketplace, to collect personal data, or to send spam.
  • Take bookings or payments off-platform for connections made here, or offer retreat-planning services to other hosts through your listing (see Section 5.3).

The GoToRetreats name, logo, website, apps, design and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only to browse, book and host on the platform. You may not copy, resell or build a competing product from them.

If you believe content on GoToRetreats infringes your copyright, email hello@gotoretreats.com with: a description of the work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them, and your physical or electronic signature. We respond to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and equivalent laws.

11. Privacy

How we collect and use personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy at https://www.gotoretreats.com/p/privacy-policy. It forms part of these Terms.

12. Health, safety and wellness disclaimer

Retreats, classes, treatments and courses on GoToRetreats can involve physical activity, fasting, breathwork, bodywork and other practices. They are offered by hosts, not by us, and nothing on the platform is medical, psychological or nutritional advice. Talk to a qualified professional before taking part if you have any health condition, are pregnant or take medication. You take part at your own risk.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

GoToRetreats is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that listings are accurate, or that any host, guest, retreat, venue, service or course will meet your needs. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GoToRetreats is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, personal injury or property damage arising from a retreat, stay, service or course, from a host's or guest's conduct, from payment partner delays, or from your use of the platform.

Our total liability to you for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the platform fees you paid to GoToRetreats in that period or one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate GoToRetreats, its owners, staff and partners against any claim, loss or cost (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from your breach of these Terms, your content, your booking or your delivery of a retreat, venue, service or course, or your violation of any law or of someone else's rights.

16. Resolving disputes

16.1 Talk to us first

If you have a problem with a booking, a host, a guest or with us, email hello@gotoretreats.com. Most issues are resolved by our support team within a few days. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally within 30 days of your notice, either side may proceed under this Section.

16.2 Individual arbitration

Where the law allows, any remaining dispute between you and GoToRetreats will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, administered by a recognised arbitration provider under its consumer rules, in English, with the hearing held remotely unless the rules require otherwise. Either side may instead bring an eligible claim in small-claims court. Claims for intellectual-property infringement or for urgent injunctive relief may be brought in court.

16.3 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with mandatory consumer protections, you keep those protections and may bring claims in your local courts.

16.4 Disputes between guests and hosts

The retreat or service contract is between the guest and the host. We will help mediate and will apply the cancellation and refund rules in Section 7, but we are not a party to that contract and our decisions on refunds within those rules are final.

17. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account, remove a listing or cancel a booking if these Terms are broken, if we are required to by law or a payment partner, or to protect guests, hosts or the platform. We will tell you why unless the law prevents it. Confirmed bookings are handled under Section 7. Sections that by their nature should survive (payments owed, content licences, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes) continue after termination.

18. Changes to these Terms

We update these Terms when the platform changes. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or a notice on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use GoToRetreats after that date means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the platform and, if you wish, delete your account.

19. General

  • These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any plan or quote you accept on the platform are the entire agreement between you and GoToRetreats.
  • If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
  • You may not transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a successor business, with notice to you.
  • Neither side is responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, strikes or outages of payment partners, though Section 7.4 still governs refunds.
  • These Terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience; the English text prevails.
  • Notices to us go to hello@gotoretreats.com or by post to GoToRetreats, LLC, 6203 San Ignacio Avenue, Suite 110, San Jose, California 95119, United States. Notices to you go to the email address on your account.
